Not sure if this is a networking question or not, but I'd like to put that icon back on the desktop of a Win98SE PC. I didn't think it would be a big problem, but I'm not sure where to start now!

TIA,
Ornery

If I remember correctly you need to install Client for Microsoft Networks. That or if you have TweakUI you can delete, even with that client installed, from your Desktop.

I meant to say, about TweakUI, is that you can delete the icon that way and that if you did do that that you will need to restore using the same tool.

Delete all items in networking, reboot, reinstall your card again, it should bring client and protocols back as well as desktop icon.

Sounds about right you guys, and I appreciate the help, but this missing icon is on my sister-in-law's PC. She's having quite a blast with her first networking adventure ;)

I think the icon issue fell by the wayside while she tends to other issues that popped up. I told her to register here and post whatever questions she had that weren't already addressed in the archived posts.

Hopefully she'll be a new member here soon. She's got a couple PCs available to crack RC5 with too! :p

Thanks for the info, it's been passed on to her...
