How do you remove the games that are installed with Win2KPro?

I have search through the Add/Remove Programs applet within Control Panel, but have no other clue. Also, I thought maybe the game could be hidden through the local security policy.

Thanks for any input.

when you go to "add/remove programs" in control panel, you'll see "add/remove windows components" on the left side of the box. go there and uninstall the games folders.

If it's not there and does not have a uninstall file, just delete it.

Not a good idea.

You beat me to it.

But that is what you do. The games will be listed there, should only take you a second to get rid of them.

I'm not at a Win2k machine to verify this at the moment, but there are certain programs that Win2k and XP hide from the Add/Remove Programs utility competely (eg, Messanger, some games, COM+ stuff, Frontpage extensions, etc). You can access these by going into your Windows INF directory (Winnt/Inf in 2000 I believe), and searching for a file called Sysoc.inf.

Edit this file with any text editor, and you'll see lines and lines of program and utilities groups, most of them with the word ",HIDE," somewhere in the line. These are what is being hidden from the Add/Remove Programs tool. Remove the "HIDE" (leaving just ",,"), and save the file, and you'll be able to access everything from the Add/Remove utility.
