i have win xp installed on my computer and i can't format my hard drive. i've tried format c: in dos but it's not working. is there any other way to reformat my hard drive with xp in it? thanks for all the help in advanced.

If the partition is NTFS your not going to see it from dos.

You would need to fdisk it first, re-create partition then format it.

But you dont need to do that.. just use the WinXP cd.. boot off of it and have it format the partition for you.

A.K.A.
Has it right.

When you boot from the XP cd, start the normal install.
It will tell you that installing over another operating system isn't a good idea.
It will give you the choice to delete the partition. Do that.
Then you repartition and format.
