Agreed. There's no need to make them feel even more self concious about a stupid imperfection that I'm sure they already know they have. We all have one or two ourselves, so why be an ass about it.

tolerant or intolerant? What does that have to do with anything?

I work with a guy who stutters, no big deal. Actually we're good friends. Sometimes if he takes too long to say something, sure I'll interrupt and try to finish it. If I'm right great, if not he corrects me. Noone is worse for the wear.

95 % of the time it doesn't bother me. Occassionally a stuttering person will call tech support and they have the attitude that they can do everything just as well as people who don't stutter. They try and prove this by reading every last little thing on the screen whether I asked for this information or not. I don't like non stuttering people who do that.

Aahahahahahaha, ok maybe it's not that funny. :p

Oh sh#t I guess I'm busted :Q

But seriously, my daughter stuttered severely when she was around 3 yrs old. I just listened and let her finish her sentences, and within a few months it went away. Now she rarely does it.

I also had a neighbor who stuttered. He was such a nice guy and I enjoyed talking to him, I never thought it was a big deal.

My dad has a stuttering problem.. it gets worse when he gets excited. So, a stuttering person doesn't really bother me since it's almost the norm to me. I just let them finish what they have to say. And with so much experience in talking with someone who stutters, I know exactly when they are done speaking.

Wow, we seem to have a lot of stutters here. Hm, I dont stutter, but at times I get extremely nervous speaking in front of a group, to the point that I actually cannot speak/breathe. This isnt a huge problem for me at the moment, and it usually passes quickly once I get started.... but I want to be a lawyer... haha

Anyone have a similar problem?

I guess I could try those fancy new drugs they have.

:)

I usually correct them. Regardless of whether or not I've understood what they intended to say. ;)
