Passing up a promising position because you can't give two weeks to yer current job isn't very smart IMO. I know you don't want to screw yer current employer but the days of loyalty and businesses helping those who've helped them are over. If your current job was going to lay you off/fire you would they give you two weeks notice? No. They would give you a pink slip at 10am and tell you to be about by 5.
Being curious, loyal, and a hard, honest worker are attributes that will help you on matter where you go. But there is a point where those attributes will hinder rather than help you and you always need to be aware of that.
