How do you pronounce "SATA"?

'Serial A-Tee-A' (actually I've never had the opportunity to say this but I guess if I would - I would do it like this)

In English I think it sounds strange to pronounce it as if there was a word 'sata'. No one pronouncing it like the word 'Satan' except for the 'n'?

I have also noticed a lot of ppl referring ordinary P-ATA Hdd's as IDE. 'Should I buy an IDE or a SATA HDD' i.e.
