I say both...guess it depends on my mood...if i'm talking fast it's new orlihns. if im talking slower it's new orleens.

Fvcked.

In all seriousness, "new or-lee-ans". However, I'm in the UK, and our two countries have a tendancy to pronounce things very differently.

another vote for

Nawlins

On the same note, I had a guy lecture me once on how to say Biloxi, which confused me to the point of not knowing the correct pronunciation anymore....that is all

generally speaking:
people who have never been to New Orleans, know nothing about the city, or just square people in general say "Or leens."
people who are hip to the city say "or lins"
people who live there say "nah lins"

so please dont call it "or leeeeeens", its just not cool. thanks.

correct: New Or-lins
correct if you are a native and have the accent: N'awlins

noob/tourist pronunciation: New Or-leens and New Or-lee-ans

It depends. I remember myself sayin New Orleens or New Orlins, it juts depends on what's easier to say at that point.
