The correct German pronunciation is mueNchen. But that's sort of irrelevant, as it's not just a different pronunciation, it's an entirely different word.

that would be the pronunciation of the german word, Munchen, which also has an umlaut over the u.

the pronunciation of the english word, munich, is munick
