mIRC isn't well-known enough to qualify for making it a "word", like LAN, WAN, qwerty, et cetera. So to me it's pronounced letter by letter.

And "directory" is pronounced "dih-rectory", "I" as in PIT. The r is not part of the first syllable. If you hear it otherwise, it's someone too lazy to enunciate because it's easier to form the mouth shape for duhr.

Based on this, I'd say m-i-r-c is the preferred pronunciation (like the first listing in the OED) and mirk would be an alternative, acceptable version.
