how do you pronounce McAfee?

i actually leave out the "ah" in mick-ah-fee. but on the other hand i have a Mac so i havent pronounced it in years.

I almost always use the 2nd option, even though I'm pretty sure it should be the first.

those of you that say add an "aahhh" sound after the M sound...why?


after all, McDonalds is "mick don alds" not "mac don alds" right? if you say macdonalds...kinda sounds like some southern accent or something...

I dunno, it was a national commercial so I'm guessing they had some people look it over to be sure it's pronounced correctly...

Even McAfee used to tell people to say "Mic-Af-ee". I had previously called them myself to find out for sure and that is what they told me; that was about five years ago.

The local cable provider here, Comcast, used to say "Mic-Af-ee" in their commercials and over the phone. Within the last year or so, it seemed to be just overnite, they started saying "Mac...". Very confusing. A friend of mine works for Cox communications in Las Vegas. He also stated that they used to say "Mic" but suddenly people there, including his employer, have changed their pronunciation of the word to "Mac".
