How do you play vcds on a computer?

I was wondering if a dvd drive can read vcds or if you need special software. Thanks.

Any cd drive with read a VCD, dosn't need to be DVD.

There is a *.VOB file in one of the directies which is a standard Mpeg-1 file, Windwos Media player should be able to cope with it.

Yeah, bevancoleman was right about WMP being able to read it. I do this all the time rather than use some DVD software to play VCD's, since it's a whole lot faster.

it's a dat, vob files are on dvds. Sorry for trying to confuse people :)

It will load under WMP anyrate.
