Pretty much true.Whatever you do, do not go to any online forums, they will make the passage of time appear even slower than when you doing nothing at all!
Surf AT. Anything worth reading is blocked here. Gotta love corporate Amerika.
Do they ever figure out that this lowers morale a great deal? Like there's no work to do at the moment and cracked.com is blocked... .... good time to sneak out and have a 3 hour lunch :hmm:
At one job, I literally slept in the broom closet. There's no work, everything is blocked, I can't leave because the card readers are tracking me entering/leaving, so the only place left is the broom closet.
You're doing it wrong.Uh, I work. On work stuff.![]()
There's always work to be done![]()
I was once told to read instruction manuals for chemical analysis equipment we didn't even have. It's nice to know things, but come on. I might as well be memorizing the bus schedule at this point. If there's nothing to do for the next 20 minutes, let me take a 20 minute nap and wake me up when you have that sample for me. Those corporate fucks running the show don't seem to understand that making me bored then asking me to do work greatly increases the chance of making simple mistakes due to boredom.This.
It doesn't matter what you do, there's always "busy work" that needs doing.
