How do you pack a dress shirt?

Going on a trip for a few days where I'll have to wear a shirt and tie once. I want to pack it so that it won't get too wrinkled, but don't want to have to carry a separate garment bag just for it. Anyone know the proper way to fold a dress shirt?

Only thing I can think of is the garment bag unless you are sure the hotel you're going to stay at has facilities to get the winkles out

Some people think that "rolling" the garment is the best way to lessen wrinkling. You might try it..

if you are folding a dress shirt you will probably have to iron it anyways. You could try rolling, I've done it a few times, mostly for polos though, I normally just bring a garmant bag if I bring a suit or something.

This actually works, except you want to roll it into more of a cylinder shape. unroll and it is wrinkle free

As soon as you get to your gig dump coffee or whatever on it so people notice it more than the wrinkles.

Are you gonna wear it with a jacket? If so, there's no point in worrying about the 90% of the shirt the public won't see

wouldn't I have to fold it somehow before rolling anyways? Or do I just fold in the sleeves along the seam and roll it up to the collar?

nah, just a tie. But yeah normally when I wear a suit I don't care, since the jacket covers most of the shirt and the tie covers the rest

That's what I understand.

Just fold it like they do in the stores, more or less, and then use the hotel iron to touch up the wrinkles when you get there (if it seems bad or you are worried). Almost all business class hotels have irons in the room and even most motels and cheap places seem to have them or will get you one if you ask.
