I hardly ever use it, so stuff just accumulates there: Start
I just alphabetize it every time I open it and delete obsolete links.

IMHO, quicklaunch and desktop icons are more effective.

I barely even use the start menu... all my regularly run programs are all in the quick launch.

It is still a mess but I delete some things that I know I nor will anyone using the PC ever need them. I always expand the control panel and use the classic menu. The new XP one is terrible and I will never get used to it, ever.

Pretty standard.

Someone feel like explaining in more words than 'LOL teh new xp gooey is teh SUX win95 pride!@!!@!!' why the hell anyone would use the classic menu?

It has exactly the same number of clicks to get to any non-recently-used program, and one more to get to a commonly used one. Plus the common areas like My Computer and My Network Places are all hidden (if they're even on there). You can critcise Microsoft all you like, but this is one change they made for the better :p

Well I guess with those choices I'd have to vote for 1 Big mess but I just use the "Sort by Name" feature. I always know what program I'm going to run and it's easy enough to find everything when they are sorted.
