How do you open an LG .lbf file on your PC?

My lg g2 suddenly died and I upgraded to a Galaxy Note 5. I used the lg backup program on my phone to backup of my contacts and notes a few days before. However, I can't open the file to get the information out and my Note 5 isn't really into .lbf files. How can I open this file?

the lbf file is using double compressing with custom data on it you can extract it using winrar, you will lose some of important lbf information if you just extract the data

Never, ever trust any proprietary scheme for backing up data. This applies to pretty much anything. If it can't be done using well documented publicly available tools, you don't really have a backup, only hopes and prayers.
