How do you obtain cigarettes in a combat situation?

The latest requests have been non-aerosol insect repellents for these terrible biting flies they have right now. Also in demand are baby wipe type clean up towelettes.

the 1st time i took a chew i was copenhagen..
i was on a swingset and i was 13 or so..
so i was just being a truant...swinging spitting..
after about 15 minutes i was lying on the ground with an intense nic buzz and nausea..
went to my aunt had a ginger ale...yacked....never again.
now..
ive tried skoal mint ,skoal straight(my fav,skoal classic(yuck),kodiak...those are ok (for chew)

I'm sure they obtain them through AAFES. On some of the camps , they've probably setup some sort of exchange; probably in the back of an 18-wheeler/trailer.

Of course AAFES is not going to set these up in hostile areas. I'm sure they'll be located on some of the more "friendlier" camps.

The combat troops out in the field, would then on occasional R&R trips back to the main camp would be able to purchase stuff from the AAFES trailer.

Cigarettes at night are a no-no but during the day they are fine.

We used to chew Red-Man, helps keep you awake and alert.

They used to pack them in the combat rations, back in WWII

K Ration:

Breakfast Units: K-1 Biscuits; K-2 Biscuits; Meat and Egg M-Unit; Fruit Bar; Soluble Coffee Product; Sugar Cubes; Cigarettes; Chewing Gum; & A Key.
