How do you mentally get over something?

I'd say you're on the right track just by being able to reconigize the issue and seeking a solution to it.

When I was in my later teens and early 20's I screwed up a lot over and over and man oh man did I dwell on shit to the point of giving myself ulcers.

Then I got to where I was in your shoes and not enjoying doing that to myself all the damn time.

Well I just made a point to remind myself that whats done is done and no matter of thinking about it will change it.

The more I realized and reminded myself that the less I stressed stuff.

My own fuck ups don't really bother me. I will take the punishment and go on. Now, someone else messing up and it affecting me really chaps my ass.

Depends how bad the fuck up. If it is really bad I make a concentrated effort to forget about it, and the bad feeling goes away in a few days. If it is not terrible then I don't really care to dwell on it. Mostly I try not to fuck up anymore.
