I took Etymology in the summer over 4 weeks and we had over 150 words a night and definitions. I kinda learned saying each word and definition out loud for a minute each worked for me. Thats what I'm going to do for these ions now too, but with flash cards too to reinforce them.

How do you memorize large lists?

Pretty much what I do. I also write and test out the words a few times over. Just do it so that I can remember the word. If I can't then I haven't memorised it.

Uhm...I memorize the look of the page. Like, by the end, I remember what different stuff is by recalling its position on the page and what went around it. So I piece stuff together like that...it's like, photographic...sort of...but not really.

list.append(new_info)

I didn't buy all this electronic sh!t so I can commit large lists to memory.

I learn new vocabulary pretty quickly so it's not a problem for me. I know that doesn't help you though.

Wow, that's exactly how I do it too.

Thats worked for me before, but for that I have to read the chapters over and over again. It doesn't work for lists though.

I write the words out. I have a photographic memory, but I can't remember anything that people say to me. At all. I can forget a conversation two minutes later.

I record it all onto a tape and play it over and over and over and over while I sleep.

Hehe, that reminds me, in 7th and 8th grade I took Spanish and they drilled tons of vocab each week. That was when I was really good at my FPS and so I recorded each word and played it over and over while I played the game. It worked out really well too, except now its high school and I want to concentreate more than that
