How do you manage your MP3 collection?

I've got a ridiculous MP3 collection (100% legal, so don't ask...all from my personal CD collection) and I'm looking for a good piece of software to catalog it all and easily search through it. I've used ShufflePlay for a long time, but I'm wondering if there is something better out there? What is everyone else using? 🙂

I don't use any third-party software. I have my MP3s organized by folders and it's quite easy to pick the ones I want with Winamp. I think any software just for managing MP3s would bug me.

The best software I've found to do this - and yes, all my MP3's are from my CD collection too - is RealJukebox. Access is quick and easy. I actually paid for it.

I don't know how RealOne stacks up in this respect.

I use an MP3 server running linux and apache/PHP and the andromeda script. It works well 🙂

i just installed andromeda last night, took all of 5 minutes , know i just have to get something that will rip my cd's well, i haven't had good luck with any program yet
if somebody wants to see what andromeda looks like, check mine out (only one cd on it right now) -> FoBoT's Andromeda MP3 Thingy

I just organize it into folders. Not really rocket science.

And *GASP* not all of mine are legal! :Q

hehe, i was sorta hoping to test my server/bandwidth by posting that, but i haven't seen squat on my server graphs, maybe i'll have to start a seperate thread to entice people to hammer it, but then i only have one cd on it

When I run out of space, I just get another hdd! /really need to organize it! :disgust:

I just take the songs I've gotten through Kazaa and use the built in player to listen to them. I just organise them by group and it works fine for me.

They are all in this folder called "Music"😛

I guess i could go for some organization, but i just load the whole dir into winamp.

i just file them into folders by the artist name and then by album title if any, and i have over 5,000 legal mp3s
