I won't say "just get up" but I will say "just get enough sleep". I am absolutely not a morning person either, but if I get enough sleep I can get myself out of bed.

It's just a matter of getting the sleep that your body needs.

Your brain doesn't give two shits about your schedule, if it thinks your body still needs more sleep, you'll have a hard time resisting it.

All through high school I would go to sleep at 3 AM and my 240 watt stereo couldn't wake me up at 7. I either had to force myself, and usually fall down a few times in the process of morning routine, or just stay in bed and have a meeting with the principle about my crappy attendance. Regardless, I did a lot of snoozing/napping after school.

Please don't mentions BJs and your 10 month old daughter at the same time. ;)

6:30 AM Alarm Rings + 10min Snooze + 10min Snooze + 10min Snooze = 7:00 AM Wake up.

3 Snoozes are manditory!

Leave your blinds open and get a south-facing window. Put your bed so that your face is in the sun as it rises. Go to bed at 10:00PM. You'll get up feeling great at 6:00AM every morning, without needing the alarm at all.

Maybe if I got more of the first we wouldn't have had the second.

I have the same problem. It's like my body refuses to wake up before 10. If I go to bed early (12) I still really struggle to wake up before 10. Normal bed time is around 2. I tried going to bed at 10 for a while and still I could barely get myself out of bed. I just don't get it.

Been going to bed at midnight and waking up at 6. Being to boot camp trained me to live with not much sleep.

Everytime i have to wake up early other than school / work , i would wake up before the alarm

I live in an apartment, so I set a task on my computer to blast an MP3 at 6. I don't want my neighbors breaking my face so I run over to them speakers as quickly as I can.

I just set my stereo on a timer and kept the remote out of reach. I would have to get up to turn it off.

1. Have four alarms. Set 1 or 2 away from night table and each other
2. Leave blinds/curtains open (may not work for up north)
3. Go to sleep earlier: 6am - 8hrs = 10pm. Do the math yourself for other situations.
4. Timer to turn on lights.
5. Keep repeating "Willpower test, let's get up"
6. Train dog to eat at 6 or 7, he'll lick you up quickly!

It's a lot tougher if you're up at 5am and need to be up at 6 or 7.

Once I had to finish a project, and next day fly to DC. Went to sleep at 3:50, up at 4:10, slept on the plane 2-3 hrs. Able to function, but not recommended.

get to bed earlier

and i set my alarm's clock an hour ahead of actual time.

so if i do stay in bed, it's usually 30 min and it's not deep sleep
