How do you make the space not show up?

Just wondering about this code, how do you make the space not show up when you write a sentence into an input file? It shows up as a $ in the output.

I'm guessing that it's meant to be some sort of Caesar cipher. Why 56 though? Why not 4, it would make sense that way.

Ya its meant to be a caesar cipher, I was just playing around with values.

I'm just trying to make it only show upper case letters.

Your best bet is to check if you've got a space and process it differently.
