How do you make egg-drop ramen?

do it when the water's boiling or right before...you can add the egg straight out of the shell OR stir the egg white/yolk in a bowl and then dump it in the cooking water.

Stirfry ramen is a good cheap alternative to lo mein. Just boil the ramen then stir fry it with lots of oil. Add veggies and soysauce. Good times

I didn't know there was a name for it. I subsisted on it in college-ramen/frozen veggies/egg cooked together. I was very poor in college.

Ramen Recipes

Awesome site 😀

Yeah good site, but it seems that some of the recipes just don't fit the Ramen diet:

"Boil water and Balsamic leaves, white wine, olive oil roasted garlic, baby spinach, fresh tomato and red onion. Drain Water, Add chicken or Shrimp flavor. Top with parsley and feta cheese."

Sounds a bit much for a college student on a 26cent a meal diet 😉

I hope you don't eat that crap daily. Each ramen has 600mg of sodium. Some of the Korean ones are 1000mg +

It's not too bad if you only add part of the seasoning packet (or none at all.)

The sodium is a killer.

Look at soy sauce, 890 mg per tablespoon.

Speaking of Ramen, do they make a vegan or vegitarian version? One without any beef or animal flavorings?

It's probably at your local hippie store, whether that be Wild Oats, Whole Foods, etc.

You can flavor ramen yourself without the packet. Egg, vegetables, (some) salt, pepper, whatever you feel like.

yes. those "flavorings" are pretty much artificial anyway

"I've wondered why ramen is unhealthy? Do they deep fry those suckers before packaging them? "

yes. and like i said, the flavors are artificial, and usually there is a high amount of MSG in the flavor packets and the additional oil packets add more fat to it.

One thing i did was have ramen with spaghetti sauce. It's a little lower on the sodium so i wont die before 30.
