People keep bringing up styrofoam, but that's only a temporary container... it's not suited for long term storage, and drinks don't necessarily taste any different in them - seeing as how you'd only have a drink in there being measured in hours... not months.

I agree but it was in the original poll and post which is why people are bringing it up.

It's the trade off for having a highly recyclable and cheap container.

Funny back in the days before the recycling mania we bought cokes in returnable bottles. They would wash those bottles out when they were returned and reuse them for nothing more than the cost of cleaning and sterilizing them. For people that just dropped them on the ground there were legions of kids like me that would go around picking them up and returning them to the store for the deposit money.

Italian Soda is so much better than the soda crap they have now. Soda water (Pellegrino), Fruit Juice or a shot of sweetener and cream.

Coke and all that stuff has too much sugar for me. I have to put water in it when I drink it, which is not often.

I prefer my pop in a bottle. but nobody ever has it. My in-laws live in Iowa. the eagles out there had Pepsi in bottles but last time i was there nobody had it. with beer i always get bottles.

I've actually never had a soda out of a glass bottle.. but I don't see much advantage of a glass bottle over a plastic one. Now I'm not a big soda drinker (1-2/year) so I'm probably not the best judge.

I've noticed in this area that cans are being rapidly phased out. Short (10 - 12 oz, not sure) plastic bottles are becoming normal for the smaller servings. The only place there is still a canned pop machine in my area is Wal-Mart....

20 oz of soda is way too much for those of us older than 25, but it is nowhere to be found...
