My wife hired a maid service to clean our house. The first time they send 3 people to clean. Then every two weeks they send two people out. Question is do you tip or not? If you do how much do you tip them????

IMO, you're already paying them to perform a service. No need to tip?

We typically had the same two people come every other week for a few years and never tipped. They charged a flat rate. We've never paid anyone that worked for a larger company to do it, otherwise maybe a tip would have been in order? Anyway, the people who work for themselves make good money doing it. At least the ones we hired.

Depends on what kind of job they do, how friendly they are and whether they are already being paid generously. If the people are nice and do a great job, then I think at least a few bucks tip would be appreciated.

If you get to know the cleaning people after a couple weeks, AND if they are doing a good job then a $10 or $20 or even a gift would be ok.

Just beware that you might be tipping them already and you don't know it.:Q:):sun::p:sun::):Q
