How do you know what your framerate is in Half-life?

also if you top out at 72

max_fps 100, fps_max 100,fpsmax 100, maxfps 100

sorry, one of those sets the limit higher, its pretty easy to hit 99.

How do you bring down the console to type that in?

make a short cut on your desktop to HL

then add -console

that should let you hit ` to bring it down (tilde)

you can also add -32bpp for 32 bit textures,

and -numericping for numericpings

-nojoy to disable any joysticks that may interfere

-noipx if you arent using ipx

-game cstrike to load counterstirke right away and skip movie
