How do you know if your oc'ed chip is finally dying?

Title says all. What are the warning signs?

Your PC doesn't work, crashes a lot. What kind of an OC (and voltages) are we talking about here?

Stability issues arise at the overclock you have. Voltage doesn't help.

Lowering speed helps for a little while, but it goes unstable in a relatively short period of time.

Finally, stock speed becomes unstable. At that point, its pretty much toast.

right now running at 1.67 actual.....but i theorize eventual lifespan will be reduced so i want to recognize symptoms now and not have fit later.

edit: right now 1700 @ 12.5 x 184 = 2300 mhz

when it stops being stable at a particular clock speed and voltage that has been 100% stable for you for some time
if it stops being stable at what it once was
if you start needing more voltage

Soulkeeper and especially WarCon's descriptions hit the nail on the head. As long as your voltage isn't too high, you shouldn't have anything to worry about with your 1700+ ...
