How do you keep your wireless PC card protected when travelling?

Do you guys keep the card plugged into your notebooks or do you unplug them and stick them somewhere when you are carrying your notebook around in your pack?

I eject mine from the notebook and put it in the protective plastic shell which then resides in my carrying case.

I use the plastic box that mine (an Orinoco Gold) came in. Didn't yours come in a box? My box looks like the ones in MattM350's post except it's long enough to cover the entire card including the antenna.
