It's annoying like hell when i browse the net and Comet Cursor automatically installs onto my system and loads up... How can i prevent this?

whoops, forgot to mention.

This happens when Im running IE and browse a certain websites which causes it to auto install.

Comet Cursor is some program that has nice colorful mouse cursors...... which are annoying cuz they auto install on my pc and I prefer the plain mouse cursors.

ok man I have comet cursor too but I have installed it only once I gues you somehow delte it every time you close the IE.
But please tell me is it installing the application every single time???

if you don't want it installed on your PC first uninstall it then delete all the files in the c:\windows\Cursors\Comet or better delete the whole folder "Comet" after when it asks you if you want to install the app you just press "No"

If possible, try to uninstall CC through the "Add/Remove" option, then use the Ad Aware program (it's a must have). If you are only uninstalling CC through the "Add/Remove" method it will leave traces in your OS...

FWIW: I even go the extra step by adding the Comet Curser domain to my HOSTS file, I let it resolve to 127.0.0.1 (loopback).

PS. I feel Comet Curser should be considered aa a "virus." 🙂

I beleive Comet Cursor is "spyware" also. You may want to download and run adaware (sorry no link but google will find it fast).

Warning. I have had adaware remove spyware from certain programs and then the program itself didn't work anymore.

the thing is, it autoinstalls after i delete its folder, and any registry entries i find (i might have missed some hidden ones thou). I end up w/ a website that auto installs it every few weeks and it gets annoying to delete it every time.

That happened to me once.

I think that cursor comet is one of those programs that asks to be able to be downloaded. What I bet you did in the past was to select the option 'always trust xxxx' (x=comet maker).
