How do you install Far Cry on Vista 64?

The installer from the CD tells me I need the 64-bit version . . . there is none on the CD.

I tried downloading it with Steam, but Steam doesn't recognize my product key.

Agh.

Uh... I just installed it. I don't remember having to go through any hoops to do it.

Agh.

Did some research, looks like there were two versions of the game. The older version had the 64-bit exe, the new one does not.

Thanks, UbiSoft, for driving me to piracy to play a game I legally purchased! :disgust:

You should be able to look online to find the FarCry 64-bit update. It was orginally a promotion for the Athlon 64s when they first came out, so searching for "FarCry AMD 64" should work.

To install it you have to first install it under a 32bit os then copy the directory to your 64bit tree and then run the 64bit patch.

I downloaded ISO's of the old version and installed it using my purchased CD key. That was was an option but man it seemed tedious. ;)
