How do you install a new motherboard BIOS?

I downloaded the following BIOS for my P5W DH Deluxe here.

http://drivers.softpedia.com/p...04-Download-59927.html

I am still using the one's that came with it (can't be good lol) so I figured I'd better update to the latest one's. I downloaded it and the zip file contains a ROM file.

What do I actually do with it? This will be the first time I've ever updated a BIOS on a mobo, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you don't have any issues with your setup, just leave it alone.

And ALWAYS download the BIOS from the motherboard manufacturer's website.

If you still want to update, I recommend the "good old" floppy and AWARD flash method:

Good luck!

I don't have a floppy drive. And I want to update as I've read the newer BIOS's help with overclocking stability. Is there another way people without floppy drives can update the BIOS?

Also, I would download the BIOS from Asus, but their site is one of the worst I've visited. Everything just hangs, doesn't load, or doesn't work.

I presume you have a CD burner? Download this bootable BIOS update CD image for BIOS 2704:

Standard ISO format that should work with any CD burning app. After creating the CD, you should find a Readme.txt file on the disc for further instructions.

if that is an asus board, they have this EZ flash utility that you can use a flash-drive to flash the bios, it's the easiest thing in the world
