juice plus isn't amway.

Regardless of how I personally assess the level of truth in that statement, I meant it more as a heads up that I'd expect many people who view your site will think that way. Added to a general reputation that Chiro is snake oil (as you know - you've defended yourself plenty here), I'd expect someone checking out your site might be made more leery by that being there.

I understand the business reality, just saying it might be losing you clients.

Overall, it looks good for someone with admittedly no experience. The pictures are nice, and the site looks professional.

For me, Thomas Edison's end quote was missing.

The menu font is a bit small, and the drop down menus are too laggy. Rolling across the menu options causes overlap of the drop down menus due to the delay in menu shrinkage.

I like it, however I think it would look better (in my non-professional opinion) if you reduced some of the content and restructured it like this:

sitemw.png

It appears your preference is due to your monitor being a widescreen. This returns to one of the original web development issues of making your site fit the majority of monitor resolutions, knowing it will not fit all.

I still prefer a narrow site that scrolls down and dislike sites requiring me to scroll sideways. My mousewheel scrolls downward and I like having two applications open and visible next to each other on my 1600 x 1200 resolution monitor.

+1 for juice plus, those things give me awesome poops. Yay fiber! It's just a vitamin with fiber essentially.

Looks good especially considering you said you were learning as you go. I see lot of javascript and stuff but it's not overused and is a clean design. I really need to pick that up some day, I'm still in the dark ages of html and css when I'm coding sites. :p

The end quote for Thomas Jefferson's quote is missing. Otherwise, it looks good.

Personally, and this is just my opinion - I use a chiropractor. But, if I were shopping in a new area for a chiro, that quote might make me believe the chiropractor was one who believed that chiro could cure everything - "hey, a little adjustment and we'll take care of that gallstone." I've been under the impression that you were one who used research based chiropractic methods.

Yeah, my main monitor is widescreen but I also hold my phone in landscape for web browsing and video. I like websites with mostly text content (like Wikipedia) to be vertical, but anything with a decent amount of graphics I prefer widescreen.

I have a dual monitor setup with one in portrait and the other in landscape, so I'm used to switching.

it's a thomas edison quote... i know the quotation mark is missing... i think that's how it's supposed to look. i've noticed it like that on various blogs and websites and thought the same thing.

i like the quote, because it's basically saying that doctors shouldn't be quick to prescribe medication, but make sure patients maintain proper health by eating right, treating their body right, and helping them understand how to keep from getting things like gallstones in the first place.

i certainly don't mean that adjusting the spine will reverse years of poor health choices or genetic diseases.

oh, another thing i changed about the sliding header is that i had the the captions of the images alternating between left and right... i decided to keep them all on the same side.

i'm actually pretty proud of myself for the sliding header image with the chick in the green... i used www.photoshoponlinefree.net (i have no real idea how to use photoshop, but i was gonna just dick around with things and google around until i figured stuff out lol) and cut out the girl and slid her over so that there was room for the caption. the site doesn't have a content-aware fill or whatever. so, i used the lasso tool for a portion adjacent to the blank space and copy-pasted it over and over again until it filled the blank space and used "box blur" with a larger feather area and it turned out looking pretty good... you wouldn't even notice :D

The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest her or his patients in the care of the human frame, in a proper diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease. -Thomas Edison

Are you sure this quote is correct? I have a hell of a hard time believing Edison would say "her or his". I would venture to guess it's a case of feminists rewriting history to their liking.

I just created a new site. Please give me some helpful criticism :)

I'm totally new at this whole thing... I did it through Wordpress. So, I'm not really knowledgeable at all about coding or anything.

Wow, that looks great.

It's also what I want to do, are you really knew to this? Good job.

I'm going to google word press right now... I bought fricken dreamweaver and it's too complicated for casual use... at least for me.

Dreamweaver is only good if you produce a lot of sites, like if you are run a bunch of online businesses. Like I said in the other thread, Drupal is also good, and it isn't hard at all to use once you get used to it. Automated installers like Fantastico can even set up the entire CMS for you, and then all you would have to do is customize/upload your own graphics.

Wordpress is good if all you need is text and images, but Drupal is better if you want custom modules. There are tons and tons of custom, highly professional themes for both (and other CMS') - many are cheap or free.

I think it looks clean and sharp, eits.

I also agree that Edison quote is a bit off--mostly b/c it's Edison commenting on medicine. ....strange.

I don't like it when business use famous quotes or words of wisdom to promote products and services. Especially when there is little context or backstory for a quote like the Edison one. But apparently chiropractors have been using that quote for a while.
