How do you guys keep track of your passwords?

I don't know how some people can use the same passwords for everything. I can understand 2 or 3 different ones though. If you have the same for everything, aren't you afraid you'll get hacked with your more important sites because for example... last I checked fusetalk doesn't encrypt passwords in the database... so some malicious admin can find that password and access your financial information. I keep 1 password for financial sites, 1 password for email addresses, and 1 for crap sites that I may register and view once or twice (which I also use for ATOT since I found out about that fusetalk problem).

I also have a whole bunch of them for work that obviously are not under my control so I use a program like Password Corral to keep track of them... all these programs are alike anyway.

I just get a random charater generator, set the number of charaters (almost always >= 10) and just memorize the he*l out of it. Don't even think about cracking it - upper, lower + special chars baby 😛

use the same one over and over again. i have no more than 4 variations of passwords... they all somehow are related to me, my name, my birthday, or my AIM SN

I have like 15-20 different accounts with various places, all different passwords and usernames, no problem remembering anything. I think its visual cues and repitition.

Similar to what vital said, I use a random string of characters with a slight variation based on the name of the site. The variation could be at the beginning, middle or end of the string.

For financial sites I use all completely different passwords and keep them in a Word file.

How secure is keepass? Does it automatically put it in boxes on websites?
edit it appears it does...

oh man i hate passwords. over the last 2 years my memmory has gone to ****** (yes seeing a doctor over it). So i have to write down my passwords and for what accounts.

I had forgot that i changed my EQ2 account and didnt write it down. had to email them for the password (to a email account i do not have any more). Though i try to keep the same name/password for accounts.
