I haven't had a cleaning in quite some time and am looking at getting one soon, but have no idea where to go.

I'm looking through lists of dentists that my insurance covers, but none of them match the highly rated ones on Yelp, so it's basically a shot in the dark.

Is there any easy way to find a good dentist out there? It's like pulling teeth (har).

i just take whatever's closest to me in the provider directory.

its just a cleaning ... what difference does it make?

i can see if it was a root canal or an extraction or something, but all they're gonna do is brush yer teef.

Pick whichever, switch if you don't like it. The dentist doesn't actually do my cleaning. The hygienist(?) does, then the dentist comes in to take a look and talk for a minute. Barely see the guy..Anyone else the same?

my dentist has a smaller operation so she does all the cleaning herself.

as has been said, ask someone. a referral is the best way to find a good dentist. ask family, friends, co-workers.

Its just a cleaning. I'd look up the closest one in your provider's directory and go there. If you're not satisfied, don't go back. You'll be able to do this until the health care is taken over by the government, after that, you're screwed.
