I've wondered that about you for years, so you've got some catching up to do.

Honestly, the number of people here who seem to think CPS should NEVER be involved really blows my mind. Sorry, crappy stuff really does happen in life and closing our eyes and ears to it and refusing to even consider and investigate the possibility makes us complicit.

Unfortunately I've seen that happen firsthand; a little girl in a family I know was abused by her father for ten years and nobody in our community was willing to step out when the warning signs surfaced. It was ignorance in part; we didn't know the warning signs when we saw them. It was also fear of making a false accusation in part. Only when the dad confessed was it discovered. I wish I wish I WISH I'd have seen the signs and taken the chance years earlier and did what was best for the child.

If nothing's going on then an investigation sucks but you can weather it. If something is going on and no investigation is made then you're leaving a child to suffer. Sorry, sometimes it's worth taking that chance.

nobody is saying keep CPS out of it. I have debated your thought htat cps parents are better then real parents. CPS had a nasty reputation for a reason. its well deserved.

BUT the more i see of her father the more something has to be done. he is yelling in the background on interviews about cps. no wonder he does not want them. i bet they find the pictures of her naked on the computer (she was sending them out to people and some were posted on 4chan).

link removed
Hope I did it right, I've never linked a 4chan thread before. You have to get in before it 404s.

NEVER link any thread on 4chan.

I enjoy/hate 4chan. sometimes you get very cool threads and sometimes you get gore or cp.

I think that'll get you banned here. I'd get rid of the link. You're posting to a lot of nudes... possibly CP from what some are saying. (Honestly, is a 15 year old really CP? Under 10 is CP for sure, but 15?)

17 years and 364 days is CP. Pornography and age of consent don't follow one another.

Oh, I never said that cps parents are better than real parents! Kids are placed in foster care almost always with the goal of reunification, because growing up in a stable bio family is preferable to growing up in a stable foster family. Sometimes the bio parents just need the training or time to get their lives on track.

Now if the bio family can't get back on track, then I DO think that adoptive (not foster) parents are a better option for the child. But that's a different case entirely and is predicated on the bio parents doing/not doing the basic things like providing a drug-free environment, supervision for the kids, getting them to school, etc.

I've looked at 4chan a few times, but I've always worried that I'll come across some cp or something similar and then be raided by the FBI.

Who cares about the morals of it? Just clicking the link and having the images cached on your hard drive could be enough to be criminally charged with possession.

I imagine just pointing your browser to it, even unintentionally, is enough. That's the one problem with going to /b/, it's pretty funny but you never know when someone is going to post CP.

In any case that didn't look like CP to me (though I didn't really look too closely at it or read the whole thread). If she really is underage the OP could very well be charged.

I don't know what the hell "pointing your browser to it" means, but I think what we were trying to tell you is that by you posting the link you could very well be charged as well. As if posting links to nudity on ATOT wasn't against common sense enough.

I doubt it. If that was the case, every single person on 4chan would have been raided by the FBI/police/CP-police.

OP will never be charged. This has happened like 5,000 times on 4chan already. I doubt any of them have even gotten a letter. I think he lives in an entirely different country too from the girl he's posting about.

lol, you guys must've read a lot more of the thread than I did. Yeah, I know it happens a lot. It still makes me nervous though. I remember the first time I saw it, it was in one of their 'What's that? I raff I ruse?' threads for posting funny pictures. I was just scrolling through them and saw one that looked weird, I clicked on it and it took a second to register. It was full-on pre pubescent CP, and it freaked me out. I closed my browser immediately (as if that would help) and stayed away from 4chan for a while. Now when I see it I just close the thread and move on. Sucks that people do that.

The laugh I lose threads... those are fucking good. I lose every time. 🙁 I saved some of the images even because they were so funny. XD

http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/2461/epicmadness.jpg I saw this image and was just like, "OMFG LOLOLOL"

I don't go on 4chan often or even occasionally, but today has sparked my interest. 😛

yep..and this is why those people are a bunch of losers...

if they had an ounce of decency they wouldnt be responding to an 11 year old..

this isnt just about learning a lesson..her parents clearly care but they don't know how to take care of their kid..

ya its funny to "teach her a lesson", but look at how it ends up..

Wasn't there a rumor going around recently that 4chan /b/ was going to be shut down permanently? For a couple of days last month all the 4chan peeps were talking about it, I never found out why though. It wouldn't surprise me if IP's are logged there, nothing is anonymous on the web.

The bad content usually outweighs the good, so there is no reason for me to be there anymore. Most threads turn into cp or animal brutality or something else that they think is shocking/cool.

Hopefully unrelated to a 4chan visit earlier today; San Mateo County Sheriff's dept. keeps showing up in my peer guardian block list randomly throughout the day. I'm hoping some other organization just took over that IP and I'm not being pinged for some reason 😱

I dunno, I don't really keep up with that stuff. I thought the other boards might (probably do) contain useful information, but it seems like they're simply smaller versions of /b.

I doubt it will get shutdown. The only reason the place will go down is because the owner, moot, cannot afford to keep it up. The place requires a shit ton of money because of how much the servers get pounded by millions of users.

I'm not sure if you guys are serious or not. Going to 4chan and looking at anything that pops up there isn't going to get attention from anybody. If you upload illegal images AND someone legal cares enough to get involved, you could have an issue.

Not even if for some reason the site was being monitored by law enforcement and obtained your IP, contacted your ISP? If they found the files in your internet cache after viewing them, it would be enough to arrest I would think.

A cop down the street from my in-laws got arrested for going to subscribing to a CP website, and they got a warrant and found images/videos on his PC.

After a raid on his Colonie home Tuesday, ICE agents say Nadoraski admitted to subscribing to and looking at child pornography.
He told agents he believed his computer contains at least 30 movie files and over 100 photos.
He didn't upload anything, but the issue here might be that he purchased images from the site. I wonder if a "free" site like 4chan could ever hand over IP's for an investigation.
