how do you get rid of that damn "turn off computer" dialog box??

It's ugly.

and I liked win2k's version of it a ton lot better. It had like a scroll thing.
I saw that another winxp computer had win2k's "turn off computer" dialog box, except it looked cooler since it had the windowsxp logo on it.

how do i get rid of the current 3-button one and get that win2k scroll-and-choose format?

EDIT: got it.

thx much hubris haha

lol, oops, wrong forum...

should've posted in OS forum.

hey mods, if you see this, move it to the OS forum, thx

and I've already tried classic view. It doesn't work hehe

You have to go into the Control Panel and then User Accounts and turn off "Use Welcome Screen". It means you'll get the Win2K logon screen, but you'll also get the 2K shut down menu.

Get a keyboard that has a 'sleep' button and reprogram it to shutdown instead. It's what I do.
