("how" as in dsl, cable, uverse, dialup etc...) im particularly interested in what people have in the san francisco bay area.
 
ADSL 8mb down 1mb up. I pay around $45/mo for that and phone but that's with a discount since I work for the phone company. I think the normal price for this bundle is around 60 or so per month.

I'm actually lucky to get the speed I'm getting since I'm actually connected at the main CO and not the one a few blocks from me. The cables are super old, but still in good shape I guess.

FiOS 25/5. I'm not sure what the cost of only the internet is since I also have television service with them.
 
Comcast Cable (Blast), ~55 mbps down, ~12 mbps up. $139/mo, but it's "bundled" and that cost also includes Cable TV. Chicago suburbs.
 
Comcast 25 down, 5 up in S. Floriduh.

Dont know what I pay as its bundled with HOA basic cable but Comcast bill to me is $99 more for Inet, HD, DVR, HBO and ~250 channels of which I watch about 10.

It's been fairly reliable but a lot of these indie are functionally retarded. I get true unlimited data though. I had cable before. Was paying the same for the same speed but I had an 80gb cap.
 
I'm nowhere near the San Francisco area as the OP requested, so I pay about $54/month for basic cable and 20/6 internet from Comcast.
 
right now I have 3G data through cricket and my blackberry hotspot capability, the phone is $60 a month for 2.5gb fullspeed unlimited at 10KB/s, unlimited us sms, unlimited us minutes, no roaming

as of the 7th we will have DSL again.... centurylink (renamed qwest) 12/0.5 for $32/mo no contract, we bought our own dsl modem for $1 at the computer goodwill store.

Speeds: 15Mbps up/1Mbps down
Overall: Service sucks, goes off at least 5x a day for 15-45 mins at a time. No phone or tv here, refuse to pay for any more shit services.

FIOS 75/35 internet and Prime HD tv package for $99 after taxes. Internet 75/35 with no other service from them is $85 or something.
