How do you get MBM ("Motherboard Monitor") to monitor Vdimm voltages?

Hi all. I was searching for some 'ware to monitor Vdimm voltages on my P4C800-E Deluxe. I did the Vdimm mod on it a long time back, and never found a way to monitor it.

I saw several message boards/forums state that MBM 5 would do this. After installing the SOB, apparently that's a lie. They said that the entry "Core 1" is Vdimm, which defaults to 3.00v, but on mine it defaulted to 5V! Also, after setting that up with the alarm, "Core 1" on my install shows ZERO volts so the alarm keeps going off! I'm hoping someone can tell me what the problem is and how to get this to work. Also, I saw that "AiBooster" will monitor Vdimm on this mobo, but I thought I'd ask if that's also a lie before I install it. Why is it only available as a download for the P4P800 and not the P4C800?

Hi computer,

Yeah MBM5 will monitor vdimm, it does for me. Support for MBM5 was discontinued in 2004 IIRC, could be your mobo is newer and MBM5 doesn't have an auto setup feature for it. You would have to play around with which sensor till you find the right one for vdimm.

Maybe someone with your mobo has already sorted it out?

Asus has not implemented VDIMM monitoring on their boards. MBM5 has support for that board, but since the board doesn't allow vdimm monitoring....well, MBM5 can't do it on it's own.

If vDimm can be monitored via Asus PC Probe shouldn't MBM be able to monitor it as well? I also have an Asus board and noticed that I couldn't pick up the mem voltage. I did notice that nVIDIA's nTune utility can monitor vDimm voltages.

FYI I have an Asus NF4 board.

So how can the Vdimm be monitored by the Asus PCprobe? I have it installed and I don't see anything about Vdimm anywhere. Could it be that it only does that on your mobo?

Will this Nvidia app work on my mobo or is it only for Nvidia based boards?

Many are saying it does monitor Vdimm, you just have to know which sensor in the drop-down menu in MBM is for Vdimm.

THAT is what I'm trying to find out.

I tried AIbooster and it said it wouldn't work with my mobo! I couldn't even install it.

I've also been trying for months to find a simple ~0-4v or 0-5v LCD voltage panel meter with at least 2 decimal places but such a thing apparently doesn't exist. I was going to use this since I can't find any software to monitor the Vdimm. Does anyone know where I can find one of these.........for something other than 80 bucks? I guess I should say I think I did find one by Omron, but it was ridiculously priced. I see Allelectronics.com has some analog voltage panel meters but 10v is their lowest and doesn't have the resolution to distinguish even on decimal place, much less two. I really need one with an alarm since just monitoring the voltage is not enough. You'd have to constantly stare it to check it. Even a schematic for one would work since I could build it.

On another note, I also can't find a simple LCD temperature sensor with alarm. These don't work, and I wasted my money and time building a PC around them!

Even if you could figure out how to "program" it, it loses the settings when you power down! I noticed this when I change °C to F, and when I cut power and powered one back up, it was back to C. Plus, there's only ONE temp reading, not two, and "T1" shows about ~150° at all times! I asked the company about this, and no reply yet. (I'm also going to post that in a separate post, but thought I'd throw that in here as well. )
