How do you get Firefox to increase font size?

I am using Firefox for my we browser. I have a 1920 x 1200 monitor and am 45 years old. I don't like to put on reading glasses just to use my PC. Every time I open a firefox window I have to press Ctrl and scroll my mouse wheel up or press the '+' key in order to increase the font size.

I've tried making adjustments to firefox in the options section, but it doesn't seem to help.

Is there any way to set things so that when I open a browser window the font size is increased?

I could just lower my resolution, but I figured I ask here if there is a work around first.

-Thanks, Ken

Way 1: On the fly
Click once anywhere on the Firefox web page to select it
Hold down Control key on your keyboard
While Control is held down, press the + key on your keyboard. Press repeatedly to adjust zoom.

Or press - to reverse.

Way 2: Permanent
Tools / Options / Content / Default Font / Advanced

in there you can set your font sizes

Thanks for trying but:

I already use option #1 and it is just annoying to have to do that EVERY web page. I'll do it, read an article, open a link within that page, and then have to re-size the fonts on the new page.

I've already done option #2 and from what I remember selecting the font size was for the browser itself (address bar, etc..). Whenever I set the 'minimum font size' in the advanced section of the 'Content' tab large enough, writing starts to appear over one another (IE: The description of a product will run over the price of the product).

Apparently, I'm getting old. It sucks, but I guess I'm going to need to keep a set of reading glasses right near my monitor so that I can surf the web.

Your complaining about having to press 2 separate keys on each and every webpage? The horror! Perhaps you could map a mouse key for that task.

If you need larger fonts in all programs, not just Firefox, adjust fonts for Windows:

Start Menu > Search "Display" > Set fonts to 125% or 150%

I just hit Control + Plus. IOW, hold down the Control key and hit the plus key. The font enlarges every time you do that. After 2-3 I get a bolded effect. To make it smaller hit Control + Minus. Especially helpful when using a laptop.

For my parents' PCs I've used two different Firefox add-ons - 'NoSquint' and 'Default Zoom' (I believe that's what the latter is called). Both do a pretty good job.

They both properly scale content on the page.
