Just reformatted the hd to an old laptop given to me becuase the screen is shot. I've hooked a monitor and am using it as a backup pc while I wait for the ram in my pc to come in. I've got the laptop hooked up to my lan and everything is working. When I try to access the internet with ie, I keep getting the "install a modem wizard." I've worked around this before but I can't remember how I did it before. Please, will someone give a brain dead dope a hint. Many thanks for the help.

Can you just right click IE and go to the properties? Then under connections set it to Never Dial a Connection and see if that helps.
