How do you find your roomates

I am currently looking at the school housing board (which is supprisingly small) and was wondering if anyone had any experience finding a roomate this way. Is there anywhere else I should be looking? Should I just get another job and pay out of my ass in rent? Suggestions?

Thanks

The university should have some sort of way to match roomates. Mine had a board in an office with people's #'s that were looking for a roomate.

IT'S HARDER THEN YOU THINK. I AM ON A PRETTY TIGHT BUDJET AND WOULD PREFER TO PAY NO MORE THEN $600 A MONTH.

where do you live? You can get a wicked goot apartment where I live for 600....

You can't find a nice apartment for $600? geeze I could get a pretty nice place right close to campus for that.

In Gainesville there is a place called Apartment Hunters... They'll roomate match if needed. You might want to look for a similar service.

There are also several sites online where people have places with empty rooms that they want to fill.

Thanks for the replies.
I live in Santa Rosa (North Bay Area) so renting is pretty expensive compared to places out of state. For instance, my sister, who lives in Oshkosk WI, found a 3 bedroom for 1000 a month. Most 2 bedrooms start at 900 around here.
