How do you find out the default (read:factory) speed of a cpu?

My gf has a Pentium II 450 but the freaking thing won't run at 450 for anything longer than 5 mins. I dropped the FSB to 66 (@4.5x) and runs it at 300. It works fine at this speed. But she bought a 450! I suspect that the people who sold her the comp. o'clocked the thing and put it in a 450 casing.

Is there any way to find out for sure the real origin of this CPU?

Check the processor itself. I think it should have some markings on it and say somewhere the speed. (such as 450)

if they did sell her an oc-ed chip, find out how hot it gets (which may be why it is crashing) and if it's cooling well, try upping the voltage a little
