Sleep is over-rated, or maybee I'm just jealous of all the people who actually get sleep.

I worked swing shift for several years, it is nice not to have to wake to an alarm, I slept until I felt like getting up.

I am now working a graveyard shift, it took some effort to sleep past noon, I have a mental block, sleeping after noon was, and remains hard to do. I usually am in bed by 7am, so noon is to soon, I need at least 6hrs to function. Fortunatly I work at most 4 nights in a row, so I am able to make up lost sleep on the weekends. When not working I stay up until 4am and then sleeping till noon gets me 8hrs and I maintain approximately the same sleep schedual, between 8am and noon I am in bed every day.

<< Sleep is necessary to repair the nervous system. Without those repairs, massive failures occur and the organism dies.

During sleep, the brain is still processing data, which often leads to experiences we call dreams.
>>

I did a scince fair project in high school about sleep cycles and why we need it.

I had TOTALY forgotten about this fact.

did you know you can gain a "sleep debt?" it happens when you don't get enough sleep for your body. to make proper repairs and rest to your nervious system. it gives your conscience mind which processes things in a much difffent manner to rest. and your subconsicen takes over absorbing the days events.
Which is why they tells to study at night but not cram. when you get tired your brain stops retaining new information, if you stop when you start to get tired adn go to sleep your subconsice will take the newly aquired information and it will sink in better. sounds crazy I know but it works. this theory was actully devloped by, Michelangelo, (it might have been leonardo, I'm not totaly sure.) and it was proven to be correct hundreds of years later. They give some of these artist sucess devrive from there little naps they take all day.

even in some business seminaries they tell you to "take a rest break" and take a short nap or atleast to relax your mind so you conscience though has time to wind down.

Whew

I like the fact that when you're really tired, everything seems funny. When I get tired, I laugh at the lamest stuff.

Wanna know what is really cool, stay up all night, and at about 5 in the morning when you're really tired, put apocalypse now on and drink a few beers. It is AWESOME.

<< I sometimes have problems sleeping, lying in bed in the dark, tired but not able to sleep, the time til morning is unbelievably slow. You can play games or watch a film and spend 2-3 hours easily yet half an hour at 3am is like eternity-the guy that had the genetic disorder, just after he turned 40, life was treating him well, he was a music teacher, then suddenly had this sleeping problem, which was fatal-without sleep for months it broke him down both physically and mentally-very sad to see footage of him conducting his class orchestra, making his way very slowly onto the podium-then more footage of him in hospital not able to respond to questions:( A broken man physically and mentally is very sad indeed >>

this is why things like insomina is very dangerous. you can actully give yourself PERMANET brain damage.

I hate sleeping, such an utter waste of time. Obviously a necessity, but still I hate it and I try to do as little as possible. 1/3 of my short life spent sleeping???? never. I try to sleep no more than 4 hours per day, often I fail.....
