How do you do your backups?

Just wondering how ATOTers backup their data ...

Hard drive which you update once in a while?

External hard drive?

RAID 1?

DVD+R? DVD-R?

I just survived yet ANOTHER scare in which I had about 30GB of unbacked up stuff on the verge of leaving me forever, and I'm backuping those things right now.

I have two copies of the files on two different hard drives (which are in two different computers) that I don't want to lose.

far to the right and down. let out cluch while giving gas. give more gas and accelerate while letting off clutch.

i don't. it's more fun when i have to scramble to remember everything i had on my computer and get it reinstalled.

I backup all my important stuff on to 3 CD-RWs.
You only have 2GB of important stuff?

Wow.

I have .....

100GB that I would hate to lose
Well I have MP3s, Videos, and such that I wouldn't like to lose but they could be replaced if needed. Main reason is because I don't currently have any easy way to back them up. The main things I backup are my email, bookmarks, save games, my documents, website, etc.

anything I deem important is dropped into the my documents folder. it is backed up nightly to the fileserver, and then it is backed up monthly to dvd.

I have 2 PC's.
On PC 1 I have my OS installed on the C: partition and my good stuff like movies, songs, pics, and personal data on another partition.
I make an exact copy of my personal partition onto my 2nd PC's 2nd Hard Drive dedicated for backups
In the event should my OS on PC 1 or PC 2 gets corrupted i'm still good.
In the event should one of my hdd go bad, i'm still good until I get a replacement.
I have too much stuff to lose on my PC's.
I also back everything up to 10 DVD's every month or so.

I have a second 80GB drive in my machine, prior to doing an OS rebuild, i backup my most important documents to a cd-r.
I would hate to lose my MP3 collectio, but it wouldnt kill me to lose it...I really only care about emails for my business, my financial/tax data, and some other docs I need...

The rest is just fluff...
I have long debated setting up a mini backup server in the house for backing up those items daily, but really I dont need it.

I use DVD+R's....all my documents and MP3's and crap on 2 or 3 DVD's, then all the pics/videos I've taken with my camera on 4 (~16GB)...that's about it. Everything else can either be reinstalled, redownloaded, or I don't care enough about it to keep.

i really have nothing that is so vital i need to back it up (one full(900mb free😉) 160GB WD Caviar)

If it went i would be pissed, but not enough to warrant backing up....IMO 😉
