An emergency vet clinic is not going to cost you as much as you think. Pet health care is actually quite cheap for what it is. And they will always quote you an estimate before proceeding with anything potentially expensive, as they know some people can't afford it. At that point you could ask for euthanasia.

 

Do it like half baked, put it in the bottom of a sapling tree planter.

Our cat just went on the weekend, and I know you *probably* can't do this for the dog, but we double bagged and put her in the freezer till Monday (we had an extra outside freezer). Should help with the stink and any ugliness. Then you have animal control, humane society, or the vet deal with it. All of them will likely charge you and cremate the pet. I believe you can actually get animal control to come to you to pick it up since they're usually out doing rounds and making other calls for wild animals anyway, though, I'm sure it costs more.
