How do you dispose dog's remains in a city?

My dog is extremely sick, and my vet is closed until Monday. If she dies today or tomorrow, what do I do with her?

I don't have the money to take her to an emergency clinic... Please... serious responses only, guys.

If she dies, I would suggest maybe wrapping her in a sheet, and putting her in a cardboard box until then. I don't think dead animals decay in just two days. Sorry, I hope she makes it :(

We live near a bayou, so there are all sorts of varmints that dig around in the yard. :( I would hate to see her get dug up by a hungry scavenger.

Maybe try your local humane society. If they can't take her, they can at least tell you what you could do with her.

doh serious replies only. guess i wont mention the Korean restaurant.

but the Humane shelter will dispose of it. might have a little fee but well worht it.

Or if you really want to look for a pet cemetery around there. a local cemetery here has a portion done off for pets. heck i think you can even have it buried next to you if you want.

If she goes before the vet opens,

Double up a couple trash bags, seal tight.

I feel for ya.

Just wanted to say good luck on your new firm and I hope your dog makes it......

I wonder what would happen if you took the dog to a shelter, claiming to have found her outside your house. Offer to adopt the dog if they will look her over and make sure she is ok, as she seems sick to you.....

I'm sorry to hear about your dog. I've had several dogs pass on, so I know how it feels. :(

You sure it's a DOG? ;)

Seriously, when I worked at a pet store people would leave their dead animals in front of the door! Like we could anything they couldn't. :| But we'd call animal control and they'd come pick up the corpse.

I don't know if that applies in your case, but I know there are actually pet cemetaries (usually nothing like the Stephen King version) in most cities.

In the garbage? I buried my dogs in the backyard, but since you're in the city that's not an option for you.
