How do you differentiate an O from a 0

I don't bother to make them any different, but they should both be illegal to use in serial #s.

I write it properly so it looks like a 0 or an o. I can usually differentiate too.

I AINT NO MORAN U CHEE?

I've experimented with adding a slash to my zeroes but my slashes never look good. I've never tried the dot, maybe I'll do that next time I have to write something.

I hate stupid game serial numbers that include Os that could be 0s (with no 'slash' or 'dot' in either) as well as Qs that also could be Os or 0s and Cs that could be Gs and 5s that could be Ss, and which also don't tell you if you need to include the hyphens and whether they are case-senstiive and which as a final touch are printed in microscopic fonts that say 'don't bother with this game unless you have absolutely perfect vision'.
