I've always had major issues with getting along with my mom. Even when I move out at 13 to go live with my dad. I ended up just moving accross the country for school and things have been great ever since not having to see her as often has lifted the tension and we can ocationally have a civil conversation (very Ocactionally) I still get to see my dad because he recently retired and spends 50% of his time here in arizona

Ah, fvck, father just sent me a huge email about it. "Cowardly" is how he put it.

I'm more surprised that he's being so hypocritical. Oh well.

You tell me. I've dealt with it for some time now, you just ignore it because you can't control anyone but yourself. My sister is heart broken over having no friends/boyfriend, my mom is stuck dealing with a greedy husband and dysfunctional children. I just try my best not to become or worsen the problem. All you can do is look out for yourself.

I am close to just letting go of both of them. They have both shown their willingness to renege on past promises and to be less than honest or straightforward in their dealings with me. It is not worth the pain or the angst to struggle to be close to people who have made no significant effort to be a part of my life.
