How do you "de-static" plexiglass?

I am going to build a case out of plexiglass, but I'm worried about the static... how do you compensate for that? I was thinking hook a wire with alligator clips from the plexiglass to the metal frame on my current case. Yea? Nay?

Didn't know it produced static; do the commercial Plexiglas cases have a means to remove static or are they not made out of Plexiglas? Maybe you could run a common wire from the power sources ground to all the metal parts in need of grounding.

I use the stuff my woman uses on her clothes called "Static Guard". It comes in a spray can and can safely be applied to plastic/plexi surfaces. Only a single blast removes the charge from the object. I also spray my work surface prior to installing components. Hope this helps.

Yea, I wonder what happens in the winter....when it's nice and dry and static is everywhere. Just letting your clothes brush up against that pretty acrylic case will generate enough static to fry your delicate ic inside. And what about the shielding? or lack of it?

Well I would think that after its all together any static build up would make its way thru the power supply...

well.. our 4 plexi projects have survived thus far w/o any static problems..... *knocks on wood*
