how do you clean your keyboard

I buy slightly nicer MS Ergonomic ones so I just don't toss them, I take them apart completely and wash the plastics. Gets it as clean as you can get!

P.S. It's not hard to take apart or put back together! Just remember where the keys go!

i don't clean them, when keyboard stops working i get a new one. Keyboard usually will last me couple of years at least

0. Have a IBM Model M, or similar well-built keybaord.
1. Take off key caps.
2. Take off keys.
3. Separate top and bottom from each other and the actual switches.
5. Soak all parts but the PCB and switches in water with some Windex in it.
6. After several hours, rub clean/dry parts and let them dry. After that, put it back together.

Last time I cleaned mine I took it out in the backyard and shot it with the hose for a few minutes and then let it dry for several days. Good as new.

I take mine apart to clean it. Remove all the electronics, take the keys and top half and give them a good scrubbing under hot water and while using dish soap. My current keyboard (MS Natural Keyboard Pro) is four years old and works perfectly. A couple of the key are a little hard to press down but that can be fixed.
