How do you check your gpu temp while under load?

Sorry if this is a stupid question. I know how to check temps in the nvidia properties. My new eVGA 7900GTX is about 40 to 42 at idle, but how do you check it when it's under load in a game? Do you just alt+tab out and check it? Is there a better way?

Any tool that can graph temperatures such as Riva Tuner or ATi Tray Tools can be left running in the background.

easy 😉

i start up the nvidia temp thing, move it onto my secondary monitor, then start gaming 😀

Seconded.

40-42 is a bit high? Maybe anyway. OK, probably not, but mine was at 34 last night idle?

you know what? I think you can reply to this quite comfortably with a meh. have fun.

I use NV Temp Logger. Small app, very little resources, writes temps to a log at 5 second intervals.
